1957-58 Squalo Grand Prix (Ferrari)

Here is another one of my cars.
This is a 1957-58 Squalo Grand Prix.
It was designed after the 1955 Ferrari Super Squalo Indy car.
This car is in very good original condition, the only modification is that someone has cut out the cockpit so as to fit a larger kid.
This is a very cool car, and I love cars that are in original raced condition. I'm not going to restore it, I'm going to leave it as is and I hope you like it.

1958-59 Moss Quarter Midget

O.k. , it's been awhile since my last post so here is another one of my cars.
It's a 1958-59 Moss 1/4 midget they were manufactured in Inglewood California.
They built both 1/2 midgets and 1/4 midgets, but they built very few 1/4 cars.
This car was raced out of Houston Texas, it was also raced at the 1959 -60
Tulsa Oklahoma National.
It does have some race damage, but overall it's in good condition.
This is another one of my favorite cars and I hope you like it.

"This Quarter Midget raced at the Houston Gulf Coast Racetrack in 1958-59. It also raced in Pasadena, TX. in 1960.

You are correct about the participation of this car at the Tulsa Nationals.

This car was driven by the late, Sandra Honea of Houston, TX.

The scoop located on top of the rear turtle hull was the innovation of her late Dad.

The scoop is from a 1955 Caddy. Ironically, her Dad worked at a Cadillac dealership in Houston.

Sandra often wondered what happened to her race car before her passing.

If this car is ever for sale, please contact me immediately. Our plans are to open a Texas Quarter Midget Museum. This car is part of Texas Quarter Midget racing history."

Ok, Here is another one of my cars it is a 1958 Kurtis Kraft 500. They were built by famous race car builder Frank Kurtis, who built full size midget cars and Indy cars. His cars were state of the art. Most quarter midget builders modeled there cars after his design.
And I hope you like it.

SPEEDWAY QUARTER MIDGET

This is a 1958 Speedway, this car is in original condition and still has the original engine. The only thing that is missing is the grill. This car has some race damage but it is still a nice car, and it also has some very cool graphics. I hope you like it.

STEPHEN KRAFT 1/4 MIDGET

This car is a 1957-58 Stephen Kraft. I bought this car from a guy in California. It has a very cool cast aluminum dash and gas pedal. I don't know a lot about the Stephen Kraft, like where they were built or who built them but they were very well designed. I hope you like it.

KURTIS KRAFT SIDEWINDER QUARTER MIDGET

O.K. , this car is a 1962 Kurtis Kraft Sidewinder, they call it a sidewinder because the engine is mounted on the left side of the car instead of in the rear of the car. These cars were built by Frank Kurtis /Ralph Potter, they only built between 12 to 18 of these cars . They were the best engineered cars of there time. The sidewinder was featured in the 1966 ROD & CUSTOM MAGAZINE . This car has some race damage but for the most part it is in good condition. This is one Bad "A"......s car, and is my favorite.
I hope to restore it one day and I hope you like it.

This car is a 1957 Wahlborg, it is in very good condition.
Most of these little cars have a lot damage from racing, but this car is still in great shape... hope you like it.

The Carol theater is in Monroe, UT .
I smile every time I see this sign in person, I LOVE IT, there's not very many old theater signs left out there.
I hope this one is preserved, and I hope you like it.

PACEMAKER ROADSTER

This car is a Pacemaker Roadster. The body of these cars are a little flatter than the traditional 1/4 midget, that's why they call them roadsters. This car was designed and manufactured in the early 1960s. Pacemaker made both the standard 1/4 and the roadster model but they made very few of the roadster cars, I only know of one other roadster that exists . This car has been completely restored. I built all new nerf bars, bumpers, torsion bars and belly pan all to original spec's. I also did all the body work. These cars ran continental engines, this engine runs alcohol. It also has alot of neat race stuff on the engine like an Evan ignition, amal carburetor and a continental gear box. This car is one of my favorites hope you like it.

This sign is located in Nephi, Ut. which is where some of my wife's family was born and raised. The Starlite is still there but it is closed and boarded up..... this sign rocks, I wished it was mine.

Dukes Lanes

Happy New Year! Here are two more signs that I have. The first is from Dukes Lanes, a bowling alley that was on the main street in Spanish Fork. I have lived here for 16 years and it was here long before I came. It closed down 2 years ago and I bought the sign from the owner so it could be preserved. I spent a lot of good times in Dukes Lanes with my kids, so I'm glad I have the sign to remember. Hope it brings back memories for all of you who are from and live in Spanish Fork.

The blue sign comes from one of my favorite towns ever, Helper, UT. It's an old coal mining and train town, and close to where my dad grew up.

WAHLBORG 1/4 MIDGET

OK, here is another one of my cars this car is a 1959 Wahlborg they were manufactured in Torrance, Calif.
They had the more classic style midget body. This is a very cool car!
When Michael Andretti first started racing as a young boy his first car was a Wahlborg, I also have a 1957 Wahlborg, I will post pictures of later.

This sign is located in Beaver, UT. The motel is long gone, the only thing that's left is the sign outside, for how long I don't know. I wish I had this sign in my backyard, it's one of my favorites. I love the silhouettes of the two girls sitting underneath the trees and the moon with the rippling neon underneath it. I hope it's preserved some how.

Ok, here is another one of my cars. Its a 1958 Pacemaker standard 1/4 midget manufactured in Portland Oregon. This car was once owned by famous race car driver Mickey Thompson. His sons raced the car in 1958-59. I spent two years restoring this car it was featured in a vintage race magazine a few years back. The Pacemaker cars were well designed and dominated the track in the day.

Halfway Club

This is the old Halfway Club, it gets its name because it is half way between Price Ut and Helper Ut. Oh the stories this place could tell. You see my dad was born and raised in Scofield Ut which is not far from here. These towns were built for coal miners, which most of my dads family was. I bet my dad and his two older brothers probably spent a night or two in this old club.

The light blue car is a 1956 MANTZ manufactured in California.
This is a very early car one of the first cars mantz produced, also an old TV sign I picked up a few years back.
